Yes, folks, you've read this correctly! The Souders Family is going to be hosting a French student! We will not be hosting with AFS, though. This is not due to any faults in AFS, but due to the fact that two days ago, four French students were coming to the United States three days from then, but did not have host families. I bugged my parents for a little while, and they quickly agreed. We will be hosting a girl named Ombline. Ombline will stay with my family for three weeks. We are hosting through a program called Academic Adventures in America.
I am very excited for Ombline to stay with my family! I am looking forward to being able to have a preview of what my exchange will be like. I can see another person go through what I will, and I can only hope that Ombline's experience is a positive one. I can learn about France by teaching Ombline about the United States. Of course, Ombline knows more English than I do French, as Europeans start learning English at a very young age. I hope that my family is everything positive that Ombline expects from the United States.
I also hope that she will not be disappointed that we aren't a fast-food family!
Stay tuned, there is more to come!
